Sticky rice- and bean-made Vietnam Exposition Centre model sets record

Hanoi (VNA) – A model of the Vietnam Exposition Centre made from 410 kg of sticky rice and 100 kg of beans set a new Vietnamese record on October 31, within the framework of the Autumn Fair 2025.

The record-setting model recreates the largest exhibition complex in Southeast Asia and one of the world’s top 10. It was guided by folk pastry artisan Tran Thi Hien Minh and the Saigon Professional Chefs Association, and crafted by the professional chefs of Lac Hong Palace in Hai Phong city.

At a 1:10 scale, the model measures nearly 1.8m long, 2m wide, and 80cm high. It was made over three consecutive days, from cooking, colouring, molding, assembly, and detailed decoration.

The record-setting performance was held as part of the “Thu My Vi – Cheer Fest 2025” culinary festival, which features up to 4,500 seats and runs from October 26 to November 4.

Here, visitors can experience a full range of specialties from all 34 provinces and cities nationwide. Beyond tasting dishes, visitors can also enjoy live demonstrations by artisans who capture the essence of Vietnamese heritage in every flavour.

The festival’s appeal also comes from the Cheer Fest 2025 Grill & Chill, offering international grilled dishes from Germany, Belgium, and Japan, over 100 craft beer flavours, and top culinary performances by legendary chefs such as Benoit Leloup, Benoit Chaigneau, Pham Tuan Hai, Tran Thi Hien Minh, and Don David.

The Autumn Fair 2025, which will last until November 4, also offers over 130,000 sq.m. of shopping space packed with thousands of products, raging from industrial, agricultural, commercial, service, logistics, tourism, and digital technology products to regional specialties, and OCOP products./.

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality.
