Phnom Penh (VNA) – The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has stood as a trusted source of mainstream information and an important bridge fostering the Vietnam – Cambodia friendship over the past 80 years, Cambodian officials, scholars, and journalists have hailed the agency’s contributions.

Throughout its eight-decade journey accompanying Vietnam's nation-building, defence, and development efforts, the VNA has affirmed its role as a reliable “information bank” for international friends. In this path, the agency has forged a particularly close partnership with Cambodia, especially through its longstanding cooperation with the Cambodian News Agency (AKP).

Honorary President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Heng Samrin told the VNA reporters in Phnom Penh that the agency has unceasingly developed, becoming a prestigious voice of Vietnam. The deep-rooted and enduring bond between the VNA and AKP has become a vivid symbol for the solidarity and traditional friendship between the two peoples.

He expressed his confidence that the VNA will continue thriving, providing accurate information for the public in a timely fashion, while bolstering collaboration with the AKP to deepen the friendship and all-round partnership between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eng Kok Thay, Secretary of State of the Office of the Cabinet of the Royal Cambodian Government, and a political and historical analyst, commended the VNA’s remarkable achievements and its cooperation with the AKP. He said he believes that the agency will keep carving out further success, spreading accurate and inspiring stories about the nation’s development journey, and connecting Vietnamese audiences with the global community./.

Pilot gender equality index for public sector unveiled in Hanoi
