MTA Vietnam 2026 showcases latest precision engineering technologies

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – The 22nd International Precision Engineering and Manufacturing Exhibition & Conference (MTA Vietnam 2026) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 1, bringing together global manufacturers and technology providers to promote innovation and business cooperation in the manufacturing sector.

Organised by Informa Markets Vietnam in collaboration with domestic and international trade and industry promotion organisations, the four-day exhibition features 450 brands from 18 countries and territories, including Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong (China), India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Türkiye and the US.

The event showcases advanced manufacturing technologies, equipment and solutions spanning the entire production value chain, including metalworking, sheet metal processing, mould and die manufacturing, welding, CNC machining, laser cutting, automation, metrology, heat treatment, pneumatic systems and next-generation industrial solutions.

Ben Wong, General Manager of Informa Markets Vietnam, said this year's exhibition has expanded not only in scale but also in quality, gathering leading manufacturers, equipment suppliers and technology innovators that are setting new global standards for productivity, precision and manufacturing capabilities. Major exhibitors include Salvagnini Italia S.p.A., Makino Asia Pte. Ltd., Ace Micromatic International Pvt. Ltd., Yamazaki Mazak Singapore Pte. Ltd., MST Corporation Co., Ltd. and Renishaw (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.

He said visitors can explore an integrated manufacturing ecosystem rather than individual technologies, providing a comprehensive view of future smart factories and practical pathways for upgrading production capabilities.

A highlight of this year's event is the debut of the Mechanical Engineering in the Intelligent Age Summit, which places engineers at the centre of industrial transformation. The forum honours generations of mechanical engineers while exploring the evolving role of a new workforce equipped to harness digital technologies, data and smart manufacturing ecosystems.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, said the city remains one of Vietnam's key economic growth engines, with manufacturing serving as a core pillar of its economy.

He noted that MTA Vietnam 2026 provides an important platform for Vietnamese enterprises to stay abreast of technological advances and strengthen their participation in the supply chains of foreign-invested enterprises and global manufacturers, particularly in supporting industries.

Running through July 4, it also features a series of specialised seminars organised in partnership with the Vietnam Robotics Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Supporting Industry Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Mechanical Engineering, VINATEST, the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry, and international technology organisations./.

E-commerce Law takes effect on July 1, paving way for more transparent digital marketplace

The law also encourages green e-commerce, more efficient logistics and environmentally friendly packaging, while creating greater opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, household businesses and start-ups. E-commerce platforms are now required to verify sellers' identities, disclose information on sellers, products and transaction conditions, proactively detect violations and establish effective complaint-handling mechanisms. Consumer protection has also been reinforced through clearer rules on complaints, refunds, compensation and personal data protection.

The event brought together internationally renowned culinary experts and chefs from Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia – three of the world's leading durian-producing and exporting countries. They presented seven innovative dishes blending Dak Lak durian with the culinary traditions of the three nations, ranging from appetisers and main courses to desserts.

Lao Cai border trade surges, durian exports hit record high

Export value through border gates in the northern province of Lao Cai reached 636 million USD during the six-month period, up 62% from a year earlier and accounting for more than half of the province's total border trade. Vietnam, Israel vow to speed up free trade deal

Hanoi unveils 276 investment projects under 100-year development vision
