Hanoi (VNA) – Three students were killed and seven others injured in a shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City in the central Philippines on June 22, Philstar.com reported.
The shooting occurred at around 9 am while classes were in session. Videos circulating on social media showed teachers and students taking cover inside classrooms as gunshots rang out across the campus.
Police said two male suspects, both Grade 9 students aged 14 and 15, were taken into custody shortly after the incident. One was apprehended at the school, while the other was later found in a nearby village with the help of local residents.
Emergency responders rushed the injured students to nearby hospitals, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
Following the attack, police strengthened security around the school and launched an investigation into the motive behind the shooting.
San Jose National High School is a public school with over 1,500 students./.
