Hanoi (VNA) - Toyota Vietnam (TMV) posted a 12% month-on-month increase in vehicle sales in June, with hybrid deliveries surging 89%, reflecting growing demand for fuel-efficient and lower-emission vehicles.

The company sold 6,712 vehicles in June, including Toyota and Lexus models. The result brought its total sales in the first six months of 2026 to 36,669 units, up 22% year-on-year.

Toyota-branded vehicles amounted to 6,494, including 1,098 domestically assembled Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units and 5,396 completely built-up (CBU) imported cars, indicating sustained demand for sport utility vehicles (SUVs), multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) and pickup trucks.

Hybrid vehicles recorded the strongest growth, with sales reaching 1,894 units, up 89% from the previous month. The performance reflects a growing preference among Vietnamese consumers for fuel-efficient and lower-emission vehicles that retain the driving experience of conventional internal combustion engine models.

Innova Cross Hybrid led Toyota's hybrid lineup with 884 units sold, followed by Corolla Cross Hybrid with 584 units, Yaris Cross Hybrid with 224 units, while other hybrid models contributed a combined 202 units.

Innova Cross was TMV’s best-selling model in June, with 1,670 units delivered to customers. It was followed by Yaris Cross with 1,206 units, while the all-new 2026 Hilux ranked third with 1,000 units sold.

In the luxury segment, 218 Lexus vehicles were delivered to customers in June. Its sales reached 1,259 units in the first six months of the year, up 55% year-on-year. Since entering the Vietnamese market, Toyota's luxury brand has delivered more than 17,300 vehicles to customers.

Experts said the growing transition to electrified vehicles has become a key factor driving TMV's growth in the first half of 2026./.
