Vietnamese frigate begins exchange activities with Philippine Navy

During their stay in Manila, the Vietnamese delegation will take part in a range of activities with the Philippine Navy, including courtesy calls, reciprocal ship visits, and sports exchanges.

Hanoi (VNA) – Frigate 015-Tran Hung Dao of Brigade 162 under Vietnam's Naval Region 4 arrived at Manila Port on July 26, beginning a visit to the Philippines and exchange programme with the Philippine Navy.

The Vietnamese delegation is led by Colonel Do Minh, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4.

The welcoming ceremony was chaired by Lieutenant Commander Albert Absalon, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics under the Philippine Naval Defence Command. Also attending was Colonel Luong Van Manh, Vietnam's Defence Attaché to the Philippines.

Welcoming the delegation, Absalon expressed his hope that the visit would leave lasting impressions on the Vietnamese officers and sailors.

Minh thanked the Philippine Navy for its warm reception, and voiced confidence that the programme would be successful and contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the armed forces and navies of the two countries.

During their stay in Manila, the Vietnamese delegation will take part in a range of activities with the Philippine Navy, including courtesy calls, reciprocal ship visits, and sports exchanges.

Frigate 015 – Tran Hung Dao concludes visit to RoK

Russian naval flotilla begins visit to Vietnam

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to implement bilateral defence cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Russia, while advancing outcomes of the official visit to Russia by General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, in May. It is expected to further strengthen the two countries' longstanding friendship and deepen defence collaboration, particularly between their navies.

Speaking at the event, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Bui Quang Huy described Vietnam's history as a testament to patriotism, the pursuit of independence and the aspiration for peace. He paid tribute to the millions of Vietnamese who devoted their youth and sacrificed their lives for the nation's freedom.

Jointly organised by Vietnam Television (VTV) and the People's Committees of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Tuyen Quang and Quang Tri provinces, the programme paid tribute to heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation while honouring the forces engaged in the search, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers' remains.

Do Thanh Binh named Secretary of Can Tho municipal Party Committee
