Hanoi (VNA) – A vibrant performance show with revolutionary songs was held on May 23 evening (local time) at the Amador Bendayán Theatre in Caracas, Venezuela, to celebrate the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, who sowed the seeds of freedom not only for Vietnam but for progressive movements worldwide.

The event was co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela, the Venezuelan Ministry of Culture, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It touched the hearts of thousands of spectators and reached millions more via live broadcast across Venezuela and Latin America.

The performance featured leading Venezuelan artists and the national symphony orchestra, blending music with powerful messages of solidarity. The evening also celebrated the deep friendship between Vietnam and Venezuela.

Among the distinguished guests were Venezuelan Inspector General Alfredo Ruiz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yván Gil, Minister of Labour Eduardo Piñate, along with representatives from various ministries, socio-political organisations, diplomatic missions, and the public in Caracas.

The programme began with a minute of silence in memory of former Vietnamese State President Tran Duc Luong, one of the disciples of President Ho Chi Minh who dedicated his whole life to building and defending socialist Vietnam.

In his opening speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs Yván Gil conveyed a message from President Nicolás Maduro, leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which praised President Ho Chi Minh’s enduring legacy. He emphasised that while time may pass, Ho Chi Minh’s ideals of national independence, freedom, and international solidarity remain a beacon for peace-loving nations.

The admiration for President Ho Chi Minh was powerfully expressed through revolutionary songs by British and Latin American composers, stirring strong emotions among the audience and highlighting global solidarity with Vietnam's struggle for independence.

The event concluded with the entire hall singing in unison the renowned Vietnamese song “Nhu Co Bac Ho Trong Ngay Vui Dai Thang” (Uncle Ho’s presence in our great victory day), leaving a lasting emotional impact./.
