Hai Phong (VNA) – A delegation of the Cuban Women's Union (CWU) on May 13 offered incense at statue of female GeneralLe Chan, who helped the Trung sisters to fight foreign invaders during 40-42 ADand reclaimed the ancient An Bien village, now Hai Phong city, as part of their visit to the northern port city.

Then the delegation, led by CWU Secretary General Teresa María Amarelle Boúe, visited the Port of Hai Phong Joint StockCompany, during which the two sides exchanged experience in the women-relatedwork, their role in businesses, and in creating more jobs for women, and promotingthe role of female leaders in scientific research.

Teresa María Amarelle Boué showed her belief that HaiPhong's valuable experience will contribute to enriching development practicesin some Cuban business areas in the coming time.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Cuban delegationvisited the Social Protection Centre under the Hai Phong Department of Labour,Invalids and Social Affairs where they exchanged information with thedepartment’s representatives about challenges in population work, and solutionsto care for and support the elderly and people in difficult circumstances.

On May 12 evening, the delegation attended the 2023 Ao dai (Vietnamesetraditional gown) Festival in Bach Dang River relic site, Thuy Nguyendistrict./.

Vietnam, India promote law enforcement cooperation

The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security called on India’s National Security Council to continue urging Indian law enforcement agencies to negotiate and sign cooperation documents with the ministry, including a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in personnel training and capacity building and a draft agreement on cooperation in combating transnational crime between the Vietnamese ministry and the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs.

Lao NA President begins official visit to Vietnam

In an interview on the visit and bilateral cooperation, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam said that, from a strategic perspective, the visit is important in further translating the concept of “strategic cohesion” into concrete action and making it a guiding principle underpinning Vietnam-Laos relations.

FDI attraction requires outcome-based support policies: minister

NA Standing Committee to review 35 draft laws, resolutions at 8th session

In addition, the Standing Committee is expected to consider and adopt five draft resolutions concerning the allocation of inspection-related recovered funds to strengthen inspection agencies; the functions and organisational structure of the National Assembly's Council of Ethnic Affairs and committees; salary and allowance scales for State officials and judicial personnel; policies and working conditions for People's Council deputies; and approval of the National Assembly's Digital Architecture Framework version 2.0.

Vietnamese, Lao legislatures strengthen strategic ties

The official visit by Lao National Assembly President Sonexay Siphandone and his spouse will provide an opportunity for the two sides to discuss strategic measures to further deepen bilateral relations in the next phase.
