Hanoi (VNA) - Upon learning of a fire on November 26 at a residential complex in Hong Kong (China), causing heavy casualties and property damage, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung on November 27 sent a message of sympathy to John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region./.
Responding to a reporter’s question on whether any Vietnamese nationals were affected in the incident, which resulted in heavy casualties, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that immediately after receiving the information, the MoFA instructed the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong and Macau (China) to contact local authorities to verify if any Vietnamese were involved.
