Hanoi (VNA) – Steel giant Hoa Phat Group on July 29 signed a contract to supply 2,000 20DC containers to Hapag-Lloyd - the largest container shipping company in Germany and one of the top 5 container shipping companies in the world.
According to Andrea Schöning, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd, as one of the leading industrial production groups in Vietnam, Hoa Phat's container manufacturing factory meets international standards and provides high-quality products.
She expressed her belief that this cooperation will not only improve the efficiency of the supply chain but also strengthen the company’s long-term presence in the Vietnamese market, contributing to supporting the regional economy.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Vu Duc Sinh, Director of the Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, said that following this shipment, both sides anticipate to seal a larger deal in the coming time.
The containers manufactured by the group’s container manufacturing factory in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau meet international technical requirements for trans-continental shipping, he said.
Earlier, Hoa Phat has delivered many batches of containers under orders of many large domestic and foreign partners, with recently the delivery of the first batch of over 500 40ft high cube containers to US-based SeaCube Container Leasing – one of the world’s leading purchasers and lessors of refrigerated containers.
The Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, focusing on the manufacturing of 20ft and 40ft high cube containers, has a total capacity of 500,000 TEUs per year./.
