– Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 20 sent a message to the 78th session of the World Health Assembly (WHA 78) in Geneva, at the invitation of World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

In his message, the Vietnamese leader emphasised that throughout Vietnam’s construction and development process, people have always been placed at the centre – as both the goal and the driving force of progress. – Trump International Hung Yen is expected to help drive rapid and sustainable development for the northern province of Hung Yen and Vietnam as a whole in the green, clean and beautiful direction, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said while attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the luxury residential and tourism complex on May 21 afternoon.

This is the first project in Vietnam bearing the Trump brand from the US-based Trump Organisation, and one of more than 20 such projects in the world. Read full story

– Former Politburo member and former State President Tran Duc Luong, born on May 5, 1937, passed away at 22:51 on May 20 at his residence in Hanoi, aged 88, after a period of illness, according to the specialised council for protection of central-level officials' health.

– Vietnam’s successful organisation of the fourth Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit left positive impression on international delegates, showcasing the country’s creativity, flexibility, and capability in hosting and coordinating major multilateral conferences, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son has stated.

– A delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence, led by Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, is attending the 2025 Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) Japan exhibition, held from May 20-23 in Chiba prefecture, Japan.

– Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Korea Copyright Commission (KCC) to organise a copyright conference and an inter-governmental meeting as part of the Republic of Korea (RoK) - Southeast Asia Copyright Forum 2025 that took place in Seoul from May 20-21.

The intergovernmental meeting, held six years after the inaugural session in 2019, drew government officials from three Southeast Asian nations – Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines – and aimed to maintain close cooperative ties with the three Southeast Asian partners. Read full story

Ship 016–Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 departed Sydney Harbour on the morning of March 25 for home after successfully completing activities within the framework of the Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review 2026 marking the 125th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the multilateral naval exercise Kakadu 2026.
