- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and his spouse, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will make an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from October 28 to 30.
The visit will be made at the invitation of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Read full story
- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a brief meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 13th ASEAN–US Summit, held within the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 26.
At the meeting, PM Chinh conveyed the invitation from Party General Secretary To Lam and other high-ranking Vietnamese leaders to President Trump to visit Vietnam. - A Joint Statement on a US-Vietnam Framework for an Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair, and Balanced Trade was announced on October 26, on the occasion of President Donald Trump's and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s attendance at the 47th ASEAN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 26-28.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that the Joint Statement reflects the outcomes of reciprocal trade negotiations between the two countries to date, recognising the efforts by both governments and business communities to foster a balanced, stable and sustainable economic and trade relationship, in line with the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh joined fellow Southeast Asian leaders and US President Donald Trump for the 13th ASEAN-US Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on October 26, outlining four key orientations to advance ASEAN-US relations substantively and effectively.
In his speech, PM Chinh congratulated President Trump on the US’s recent standout achievements and commended his diplomatic efforts to foster dialogue and the peaceful settlement of global conflicts. He particularly highlighted US cooperation with Malaysia - this year’s ASEAN Chair, and other member states in facilitating dialogue between Cambodia and Thailand that led to their joint declaration.
