Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued an official dispatch calling for a swift update of reviews and reports about projects facing long-standing difficulties on the national public investment database.

The dispatch highlights that ministries, sectors, and localities involved must intensify their efforts to resolve these stalled investment projects in a bid to accelerate socio-economic development and prevent waste of state, business, and public resources.

To facilitate this, the PM established a steering committee for reviewing and resolving related obstacles, which is chaired by Standing Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh. At a meeting of the committee on March 30, the Government leader tasked the Ministry of Finance with developing a centralised database and guiding ministries, central agencies, and localities on data entry and reporting procedures for problematic projects.

According to the dispatch, all previously reported projects must be entered into the system by March 25, with additional cases submitted by April 10.

After this deadline, the database will no longer accept new entries. Ministers, heads of ministerial-level and government agencies, and provincial and municipal leaders who fail to update project information will be deemed to have no further issues requiring higher-level intervention and will bear full responsibility before the Government, the PM, and the law for any omissions or incomplete reporting./.
