Hanoi (VNA) - The relationship between Algeria and Vietnam promises to enjoy a bright outlook, given the goodwill of the two countries’ high-level leaders as well as the enormous potential of both economies, according to Redha Oucher, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Algerian Embassy in Vietnam.

In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the New Year 2025, Oucher expressed his delight at the increasing consolidation and expansion of the bilateral ties in numerous fields, with positive strides.

The visits by delegations from both countries, which focused on political and cultural affairs, have achieved observable success, he affirmed.

As for the economic field, the diplomat stressed the need to upgrade bilateral cooperation on a par with their political relationship, suggesting both sides work together to increase trade volume and reduce trade deficit.

He proposed encouraging businesses to further explore each other’s markets, adding that Vietnam can purchase more products from Algeria, particularly agricultural and food products such as dates, olive oil, olives, fruits, fertilisers, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and other raw materials like metals and plastics.

Also calling on Vietnamese businesses to invest in Algeria, Oucher stated that his country’s new investment law is generating many opportunities and advantages for foreign companies.

He also emphasised the necessity to reform the legal framework for bilateral cooperation by renewing and updating several important agreements./.
