Thailand 365 Days advanced following strong travel interest in Thai destinations

To maximise economic value, the Thai Government plans to integrate travel experiences with Geographical Indication products, regional cuisine, and cultural traditions. This strategy aims to attract high-value tourists, encourage repeat visits, and extend stays.

Hanoi (NNT/VNA) – The Thai Government is advancing the "Thailand 365 Days" policy to promote year-round quality tourism, following reports from the digital travel platform Agoda that multiple Thai cities remain top destinations for Asian travellers in the first half of 2026.

Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhanadirek stated that the Government under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is capitalising on global travel trends favouring diverse natural, cultural, and culinary experiences. Agoda's data highlights sustained interest in major destinations such as Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, and Cha-am.

Emerging natural destinations like Khao Yai, Nakhon Nayok, and Kanchanaburi are also seeing increased visitor numbers, showing the nation's ability to distribute tourism revenue to secondary cities and local communities.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Phancharoenworakul also reported that the ministry is developing new attractions and elevating operational standards to meet the Global Sustainable Tourism Council criteria under the Thailand Green Tourism Plan 2030. The primary objective is to place Thai destinations in the global top 100 sustainable tourism rankings.

These development efforts have already yielded concrete results, with Doi Phu Kha National Park in Nan province receiving the Green Destinations Award in 2026. The park now serves as a national model for sustainable tourism development.

The spokesperson emphasised that the Government will continue to upgrade infrastructure, safety protocols, and service standards, and will promote year-round festivals to firmly establish Thailand as a premier global destination and drive sustainable economic growth./.
