Vietnam assists Laos in building new branch of National Academy of Politics and Public Administration

The ground breaking for construction of the southern region branch of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration reflects not only the cooperation in education and training between the two Parties and States but also serves as a vivid symbol of the strong friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Laos.

Vientiane (VNA) - The ground-breaking ceremony was held in Champasak province on December 3 for a project to build the southern region branch of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration.

The project has a total investment of 750.8 billion VND (28.4 million USD), including 737.1 billion VND in non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government.

At the ceremony, Professor Dr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), and Chairman of the Central Theory Council, emphasised the importance of this event. He noted that it reflects not only the cooperation in education and training between the two Parties and States but also serves as a vivid symbol of the strong friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Laos. It holds strategic value, demonstrating a long-term vision for cooperation in training officials and developing high-quality human resources.

Thang emphasised that this is not merely an investment and construction task, but also a political mission and a noble international responsibility entrusted by the Party, State, and people of Vietnam.

He said the groundbreaking ceremony kicks off a new chapter in educational and training cooperation between the two countries. With a spirit of special solidarity, the determination of local authorities, and the support of the people of Champasak province, the project is expected to run smoothly, safely, and to a high standard, with Phase 1 set to finish in 2028.

The official also showed his confidence that the province will become a symbol of Vietnam–Laos friendship, contributing to nurturing the special solidarity between the two nations.

President of the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration Phouvong Oukhamsen expressed his profound gratitude for the help of the Vietnamese Party, Government and people, affirming that this is a symbol of the Laos-Vietnam special collaboration./.
