Hanoi (VNA) - Panama’s daily Metro Libre on September 1 reported that Vietnam has reaffirmed its readiness to support Panama in agricultural development projects, particularly in enhancing rice production.
Under the headline “Vietnam reaffirms support for Panama in rice production”, Metro Libre quoted a recent statement by Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico and concurrently to Panama, Nguyen Van Hai, highlighting Vietnam’s willingness to share experience, transfer technology and provide assistance to Panama in agriculture, especially in improving rice quality and output.
The newspaper said at a ceremony in Panama City marking the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, Ambassador Hai stressed that relations between the two countries still hold significant potential for further development across various sectors.
Metro Libre also cited the ambassador as saying that with its strategic location in Central America and the special role of the Panama Canal, one of the world’s most important maritime routes, Panama can serve as a gateway for Vietnamese products to penetrate deeper into American markets. In return, Vietnam, described as the “heart of Southeast Asia,” can act as a bridge for Panama to expand its presence in the ASEAN market./.
