Vietnam Women’s Union congratulates Laos on 50th National Day

Congratulating the Lao people on the achievements they have made over the past 50 years, she expressed deep appreciation and pride in the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States, and people of the two countries, and stressed the importance of preserving and promoting the precious traditions nurtured by generations of leaders.

Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), led by its President Nguyen Thi Tuyen, visited the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on November 26 to extend congratulations on the 50th anniversary of National Day of Laos (December 2, 1975 – 2025).

On behalf of the VWU Central Committee, Tuyen, who is also Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, conveyed the warmest congratulations to the Lao Party, State, and people on the occasion of the milestone anniversary.

Congratulating the Lao people on the achievements they have made over the past 50 years, she expressed deep appreciation and pride in the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States, and people of the two countries, and stressed the importance of preserving and promoting the precious traditions nurtured by generations of leaders.

Tuyen noted that alongside regular cooperation activities, the VWU is currently organising a training course on women’s affairs for 15 officials of the Lao Women’s Union from October 15 to December 15, in line with bilateral agreements.

Looking ahead, the official expressed her hope that, with the support of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam and Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh personally, the women’s unions of both countries will expand practical and in-depth cooperation activities, contributing positively to women’s development.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh praised the coordination and support that the VWU has extended to the Lao Women’s Union over the years. He said the close cooperation between the two unions, as well as between the people of both countries, has enhanced mutual understanding, solidarity, and assistance.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Lao Embassy will continue to work closely with the VWU and relevant agencies to effectively implement cooperative programmes agreed upon by the two countries’ leaders, thereby further deepening the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos./.
