Hanoi (VNA) - The 10th session of the 15th National Assembly is not only a summary of the term but also marks the beginning of a new development phase, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasised at the opening ceremony of the plenum on October 20 morning.

Over approximately 40 days, the legislature will review, discuss, and decide on a substantial workload, including many strategically important matters. It is expected to consider and approve 53 draft laws and resolutions - the largest legislative workload in the history of NA sessions.

This is a vivid demonstration of the principle that the law must take a step ahead, paving the way for innovation and using the lives and interests of the people as the measure of policy, Chairman Man affirmed.

He shared that the draft laws cover almost all key sectors, with many involving new and continuously evolving issues. They institutionalise new guidelines and resolutions of the Party in a timely manner, with a focus on removing institutional bottlenecks, especially in land, investment, planning, construction, environment, and energy sectors; stabilising the corporate bond and real estate markets, among others.

The NA will also review government reports on the results of implementing the socio-economic development plan, state budget, and public investment plan for 2025; and the implementation of NA resolutions on the five-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance, and public debt management.

Based on these, the legislative body will consider and decide on the socio-economic development plan, state budget estimates, central budget allocation plans, and public investment plan for 2026; as well as the national five-year financial plan and the medium-term public investment plan for 2026-2030.

In addition, it will review and decide on adjustments to the national master plan for the 2021-2030 period; approve foreign affairs-related agreements as proposed by the State President; and consider and make decisions on personnel matters within its authority. Additionally, the session’s agenda allocates time for the National Assembly to discuss and provide feedback on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress./.
