- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son held separate meetings with the foreign ministers of China, Australia, and Algeria on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM-58) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 10.

In his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern. Read full story

- National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh arrived in Paris on July 10, beginning her five-day working visit to France, and attending the 50th meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF) General Assembly.

The Vietnamese official held talks with French Senate Vice President Loic Hervé and French NA Vice-President Nadège Abomangoli, met with Anne Le Hénanff, Chairwoman of the France – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group (FVFG) in the French NA, and Amélia Lakrafi, General Delegate of the APF. - A delegation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, led by Deputy Minister Ho An Phong, attended the Global Civilisation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, which opened in Beijing, China on July 10.

Themed “Safeguarding the Diversity of Human Civilisations for World Peace and Development”, the two-day meeting brought together over 600 delegates from around 140 countries and territories, representing the fields of politics, culture, and education. Read full story

- Ho Chi Minh City is experiencing a surge of both domestic and foreign private investment into its urban rail projects, offering a great opportunity for the city to develop a modern public transport network and save budget.

Among the upcoming lines, Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong) is attracting the most attention from investors. The 11-km route will connect the city centre with the northwest area, with a total estimated cost of over 2.1 billion USD. Read full story

- An agreement to set up a comprehensive cooperation programme aimed at providing digital skill training, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating sustainable job opportunities for people with disabilities in the digital economy was signed at a ceremony in Hanoi on July 10.

The signatories were the Supporting Centre for Youth's Startup (SYS Vietnam), the the Centre for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development (eComDX) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), and the Vietnam Youth Association on Disabilities. Read full story

- The Hanoi People’s Court on July 11 issued verdicts for 41 defendants in a major corruption case involving real estate firm Phuc Son Group JSC and high-ranking former provincial officials.

Nguyen Van Hau, Chairman and CEO of Phuc Son Group, was charged with giving bribes and violating bidding and accounting regulations, causing serious consequences. He received a combined jail sentence of 30 years - 14 years for bribery, nine years for the bidding violation, and seven years for accounting irregularities. Read full story

- The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has congratulated the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnamese women’s national team for topping Group E and qualifying for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 in Australia.

In a letter sent to VFF, the AFC praised the team’s strong determination throughout the qualifiers and highlighted their achievement in securing a spot at the continental tournament. Read full story

- The world-renowned travel magazine Travel + Leisure has just announced the results of its World’s Best Awards 2025, in which Capella Hanoi proudly stands as the only representative from Hanoi, Vietnam to be honoured in both the “Top 100 Hotels in the World” and the “Top 15 City Hotels in Asia.”

Capella Hanoi earned an impressive score of 97.87 out of 100 – one of the highest ratings in the Asia region. - The Vietnam Dancesport Festival 2025 officially kicked off on July 10 evening at the Military Zone 7 Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together more than 3,000 athletes from 37 countries and territories.

Ship 016–Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 departed Sydney Harbour on the morning of March 25 for home after successfully completing activities within the framework of the Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review 2026 marking the 125th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the multilateral naval exercise Kakadu 2026.

95th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union marked in Laos
