Vientiane (VNA) - The Lao Gold Festival 2025 officially opened on September 5 evening, marking a historic event as it is held for the first time in Laos.
This is not only an opportunity to promote the image of a country rich in gold potential, but also an important turning point in the development process of the domestic gold industry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Chanthone Sitthixay, CEO of the Lao Bullion Bank, emphasised that the three-day festival holds great significance for the development of the gold industry as well as the national economy. He affirmed that the event not only honours the value and beauty of Lao gold but also demonstrates the strength, potential, and development prospects of the industry.
According to him, the festival sets out a clear vision and goal: to build a platform connecting local producers with domestic and international markets, promote investment, and raise global awareness of the potential, value, and quality of Lao gold.
It also serves as a venue for producers, traders, and investors to meet, thus opening up new business opportunities while focusing on human resources development, training, and technology transfer for artisans and enterprises.
Notably, at the event, the Lao Bullion Bank introduced its mobile banking application “LBB PLUS”, expanding modern gold investment channels and offering users a fresh experience in the digital era. The application enables convenient and secure gold transactions while helping to strengthen customer confidence in Laos’ gold banking system./.
