Hanoi (VNA) - Laos has officially launched its Digital Citizen Management and Identity Card System, believed to be a major milestone in the country's digital transformation journey.
The launch ceremony was held in the Lao capital city of Vientiane on July 30, with senior officials and representatives from relevant agencies in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Vilay Lakhamfong said the system would be implemented uniformly across all levels, from central to local authorities.
The system would enhance national capacity in governance, security, and socio-economic development, he said.
