– Vietnamese representative agencies abroad must to closely monitor the situation and markets in countries they are in charge of, especially making efforts to connect Vietnam’s economy with countries and regions, and foster links between Vietnamese businesses and foreign counterparts, stated Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The Government leader made the request while concluding a hybrid conference with leaders of ministries, localities, business associations, and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to discuss measures to proactively adapt to changes in international trade on April 7. Read full story
– An incense offering ceremony was held at Kinh Thien Palace on Nghia Linh Mountain within the Hung Kings Temple Relic Site in the northern midland province of Phu Tho on April 7 – the 10th day of the third lunar month - to commemorate the death anniversary of the nation’s legendary founders, the Hung Kings.

State President Luong Cuong, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh attended the ceremony, among others. Read full story
– Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Ulugbek Inoyatov, Chairman of the Central Council of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (PDPU), in Tashkent on April 7, as part of his official visit to the Central Asian country.
Inoyatov expressed his wish to enhance cooperation between the two nations via Party and State channels and people-to-people exchanges. He particularly underscored the strengthening of the relationship between the PDPU and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) to further deepen the longstanding friendship between the two countries. – NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China Losang Jamcan on the sidelines of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on April 7.
At the meeting, Man affirmed that strengthening and developing a friendly, cooperative, stable, and long-term relationship with China is a consistent policy, a strategic choice, and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy, and Vietnam is ready to work with China to effectively implement the high-level common perceptions and joint statements between Vietnam and China, continuously deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Vietnam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance under the six major orientations. – NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga on April 7 visited the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS), where they met with local lecturers and students studying the Vietnamese language, as part of their official trip to Uzbekistan.

As one of Uzbekistan’s most prestigious and long-established universities, the institute has extensive international cooperation programmes with academic institutions and research centres worldwide, including Vietnam. Notably, it runs a Vietnamese language faculty. Read full story
– NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries Sariev Kakhramon Ramatullaevich and President of the Uzbekistan-Vietnam Friendship Association Mukhamedov Alisher Rustamovich in Tashkent on April 6 evening as part of his official visit to Uzbekistan.

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Party and Government to attend the memorial service for former President of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone in Vientiane on April 7.

– A Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, on April 7 attended the 14th Annual Investment Meeting Congress (AIM Congress) in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, which is a premier investment networking event attracting over 20,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
Following the opening ceremony of the two-day event that features over 1,000 speakers and approximately 350 discussion sessions, Dung delivered a speech at the session on attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the era of digital transformation and sustainable development. Read full story
– The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi (AmCham) have jointly proposed US President Donald Trump to temporarily suspend the imposition of reciprocal tariffs on Vietnamese exports.

According to VCCI, in their joint letter sent to the US Secretary of Commerce, VCCI and AmCham called on the Trump administration to temporarily suspend the imposition of tariffs to avoid disrupting business operations, negatively affecting current trade transactions, and disturbing the logistics chain. – Vietnam recorded more than 6 million international tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 29.6% increase year-on-year, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).
This is the highest-ever number so far and represents a 134% surge from the figure in Q1 of 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Read full story./.
