- Party General Secretary To Lam has authored an article highlighting the pivotal role of youth in driving Vietnam into a new era of growth and prosperity.

In today’s era, youth's role is even more critical, serving as a pillar to advance the nation to the new era, the main resource to build and develop new production forces and pioneers in emerging fields. - State President Luong Cuong hosted a reception in Hanoi on March 24 for Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Bayram Aliyev, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

During the meeting, Cuong congratulated Azerbaijan on its recent achievements in ensuring political and social stability and economic development, which contribute to Azerbaijan’s increasing position and role in the international arena. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on March 24 urged young Vietnamese people to take the lead in developing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Chairing his annual dialogue with 300 representatives of 20 million young people nationwide on the occasion of the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931–2025), PM Chinh stressed that today's youth are a generation born in the era of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasised the need to align socio-economic development with the task of ensuring national defence and security while presiding over a conference on ensuring security and order to support socioeconomic development in the northwestern region and surrounding areas on March 24.

He reaffirmed that the northwestern region holds a specially important strategic position in terms of politics, socio-economy, national defence, security, ecological environment, and foreign relations. - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung on March 24 chaired a meeting with ministries and agencies to discuss the country’s private sector development project, noting that related solutions must be targeted, accurate, bold enough, and within authorities' jurisdiction.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam outlined the ministry’s draft project, which consists of five key sections – a review of relevant development mechanisms and policies; an assessment of recent private sector growth; international experience and lessons for Vietnam; perspectives, objectives, tasks, and solutions for private economic development in the next phase; and recommendations and implementation roadmap. - Vietnam News Agency (VNA) General Director Vu Viet Trang and Chen Jianwen, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Daily of China, shared experience in promoting the role of the mainstream news agencies in the digital age during their meeting in Hanoi on March 24.

Introducing the guests to the agency and its multimedia information development, Trang affirmed that the VNA was among the first press agencies in Vietnam to launch an online news platform as early as 1998, when the country had just got connected to the global internet. - The Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, in collaboration with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA), organised a hybrid seminar on March 24 to introduce Vietnam's potential, advantages, and development strategies for the semiconductor industry.

- Approximately 35,000 houses have been repaired or newly built nationwide since the third session of the Central Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses on March 10, with an average of 37 makeshift houses eradicated per day in each locality, the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs reported on March 24.

According to local reports updated as of March 21, a total of 156,718 temporary and dilapidated houses had been addressed nationwide. Of the figure, 77,456 houses were completed, and construction started on 79,262 others. Read full story

- Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang has freshly signed a decision announcing the official list of 17 inland container depots (IDCs) across 12 provinces and centrally-governed cities in Vietnam.

The northern port city of Hai Phong leads with four dry ports, namely Tan Cang Hai Phong, Dinh Vu – Quang Binh, Hoang Thanh and Nam Dinh Vu. Bac Ninh province, also in the north, follows with the three ports of Tan Cang Que Vo, Tien Son, and Tan Chi. Meanwhile, the southern province of Dong Nai is home to Tan Cang Nhon Trach and Tan Cang Long Binh./. Read full story

Vietnamese naval ship completes mission at Kakadu Exercise 2026

Ship 016–Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 departed Sydney Harbour on the morning of March 25 for home after successfully completing activities within the framework of the Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review 2026 marking the 125th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the multilateral naval exercise Kakadu 2026.
