State President meets families of Chinese friends of Vietnam

President Luong Cuong stressed that Vietnam always treasures and remembers the support of Chinese advisors and experts who shared hardships with the Vietnamese people during wartime.

Beijing (VNA) – State President Luong Cuong on September 4 received representatives of families of former Chinese and Vietnamese experts, advisors, and officials who had supported the Vietnamese people during the struggle for national independence.

The meeting took place on the occasion of his attendance at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and working trip to China.

Speaking at the event, the Vietnamese leader affirmed that their contributions are of immense significance to Vietnam’s revolution and to the traditional friendship between the two countries.

President Cuong stressed that Vietnam always treasures and remembers the support of Chinese advisors and experts who shared hardships with the Vietnamese people during wartime. He also highlighted the sacrifices by Vietnamese soldiers who fought in the Chinese Red Army, citing the example of Nguyen Son, a “dual-nation general” who contributed to the liberation of both countries.

He noted that the Vietnam – China relationship, nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, Chairman Mao Zedong, and generations of leaders and people from both countries, has grown soundly over the years. Today, based on the framework of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, the ties have been elevated to a China – Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,

The President noted that Vietnam has always educated younger generations to understand, respect, and preserve the good relationship between the two countries. He underlined the important role of the Vietnamese community living, working, and studying in China, as well as the relatives of Chinese and Vietnamese revolutionary figures, in strengthening bilateral bonds.

Presenting gifts to them, the leader expressed his wish that these families remain in good health and continue to uphold the revolutionary traditions of their forebears, thereby contributing to the stable, sustainable, and effective development of Vietnam – China relations in the time to come./.
