The Chinese top Party and State leader congratulated Vietnam on the successful celebration of its 80th National Day, stressing the need for the two countries to strengthen strategic cooperation, uphold international fairness and justice, and ensure stability for development in the region and the world.

The Vietnamese and Chinese leaders expressed satisfaction with recent positive progress in the bilateral ties. They also discussed orientations and solutions to further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and advance the building of a Vietnam–China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

The two sides stressed the importance of fostering traditional friendship, strengthening cooperation, and working together to build the community, thus serving the interests of both nations and contributing to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

According to Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, the Vietnamese State leader’s working trip to China has been a success. President Cuong’s presence at the anniversary highlighted Vietnam's peace-loving spirit and its resolve to fight for peace and justice, as well as the Party and State’s consistent policy of continuing to work closely with the international community and contribute responsibly to peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.

Looking ahead, Vu highlighted political, material, and social foundations to realise the trip’s outcomes.

With the strong political determination of their leaders, Vietnam and China are set to further enhance strategic coordination and consolidate political trust through maintaining regular high-level exchanges, strengthening comprehensive cooperation across all channels, and boosting collaboration in key areas.

Both countries' leaders engaged in candid, friendly, and effective discussions, agreeing to deepen economic connectivity and create new highlights in fields of mutual strength and demand like like agricultural trade, rail connectivity, large-scale infrastructure, science-technology, innovation, high-tech agriculture, environmental protection, and human resource training. The Chinese leaders affirmed readiness to expand imports of Vietnamese goods and encourage quality investment, aiming to create opportunities for businesses and people to drive mutual benefits.

The two sides pledged to encourage and facilitate people-to-people exchanges through opening more new direct flights; visa facilitation; and stronger cultural, educational, and tourism cooperation, while effectively coordinating in organising activities within the Year of Vietnam-China Humanistic Exchange.

On the occasion, President Cuong also met with relatives of Chinese and Vietnamese advisors, generals, and intellectuals who had contributed to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause and Vietnam-China friendship. Expressing appreciation for the traditional friendship and mutual support between the two Parties and countries, he encouraged the families of these historical figures to continue passing on this legacy to future generations, thereby reinforcing the enduring Vietnam - China bonds.

He also had a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese community in China, reaffirming the consistent policy of the Party and State that overseas Vietnamese, including those in China, are an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc and a vital source of strength and motivation for the country’s development.

It is clear that Vietnam and China share a long-standing tradition of friendship. A century ago, under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, the first proletarian revolutionaries of the two nations stood shoulder to shoulder in solidarity, supporting each other and forging the close bond of being “comrades as well as brothers.”

During his trip, the Vietnamese State leader also held meetings with leaders of many counntries attending the event, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez. In these meetings, he affirmed that Vietnam’s achievements would not have been possible without the support of leaders and people of its brotherly and friendly nations. Cuong also put forward several cooperation initiatives and expressed his belief that Vietnam and these countries will continue to stand together for peace, stability, development, and prosperity./.
