Thematic research programme for MPLA, FRELIMO managers launched

A research, survey, and thematic exchange programme for leaders and managers of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) for 2025 was launched in Hanoi on September 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – A research, survey, and thematic exchange programme for leaders and managers of the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) for 2025 was launched in Hanoi on September 5.

The programme, organised by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) at the request of MPLA and FRELIMO, focuses on nine thematic areas, including cadre training, political education, economic development, adaptation to global changes such as digital government and online public services, and strengthening the Party’s leadership role.

To prepare for the course, the academy invited experienced experts and policymakers to design and deliver lectures. Participants will also join field trips, including visits to the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group and Ho Chi Minh City.

In his opening remarks, Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member and President of HCMA, welcomed Angolan and Mozambican officials to Vietnam for the programme, which he said would help strengthen political trust, solidarity, and close cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the MPLA and FRELIMO parties.

He stressed that Vietnam–Angola and Vietnam–Mozambique relations were forged in the common struggle against foreign invaders for national liberation. They also stem from the admiration and respect that the people of Angola and Mozambique hold for President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV – a pioneering force in the fight against imperialism and colonialism, both old and new, as well as in the ongoing process of national construction and defence.

Thang also expressed his admiration for the solidarity and determination of the governments and people of Angola and Mozambique throughout history and in their current nation-building efforts.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, representatives of MPLA and FRELIMO expressed gratitude to the CPV in general and to HCMA in particular for their support in organising the programme. They said the knowledge and experience gained would enhance the capacity of Angolan and Mozambican management officials across various fields.

The delegates voiced confidence that the traditional friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam will continue to be consolidated and developed, harnessing mutual potential and contributing to regional and global peace and development./.

UNESCO-backed STEAM initiative helps boost gender equality

Vietnam tightens fuel smuggling controls to safeguard energy security

Under the directive, customs units, particularly those operating at land border gates, inland waterways and seaports, have been instructed to step up patrols and inspections of vehicles entering and exiting Vietnam.
