Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air flights to operate from Tan Son Nhat’s new terminal in May

Designed to handle 20 million passengers annually, Terminal T3 of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport includes four main components: the passenger terminal, a multi-story parking facility integrated with non-aviation services, the elevated road system at the terminal frontage, and aircraft aprons. Hanoi (VNA) - Domestic flights of the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and the new-generation carrier Vietjet Air will officially operate from Terminal 3 of Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport from May 5.

This passenger terminal will experience a trial operation on the Tan Son Nhat - Van Don - Tan Son Nhat (SGN-VDO-SGN) route with these two airlines at 4am on April 24, and on the Tan Son Nhat - Noi Bai - Tan Son Nhat (SGN-HAN-SGN) route at 4am on April 28. Meanwhile, the other four airlines—Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, and Pacific Airlines—will continue to operate from the existing domestic Terminal T1.

To ensure safety during the transition, the airport requests that airlines, ground service units, and aviation and non-aviation service providers ensure their staff are updated on the latest information. They are also urged to review all equipment and procedures, prepare human resources, and provide proper training to handle potential emergencies during both the testing phases and long-term operations.

These units are advised to cooperate closely with the airport to promptly update information and implement the appropriate operational plans. They should also communicate the necessary information to passengers and agents.

Passengers are reminded to go to the designated terminal for check-in procedures to avoid delays that could impact service quality and the brand image of both service providers and the airport. For any issues, difficulties, suggestions, or recommendations arising, the units should coordinate with the Tan Son Nhat Airport Operations Centre for resolution.

Vietnam races to restart idle ethanol plants to meet surging demand

Do Van Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Biofuels Association, said that monthly ethanol demand for the E10 blend is projected at 92,000–100,000 cu.m. The country’s six ethanol plants have a combined design capacity of roughly 41,000 cu. m per month, but only three are now running, churning out about 25,000 cu.m, or just 25–27% of demand. Even if every plant hits full tilt, local supply would cover only around 41% of national needs.
