Vietnamese President receives founder of MEBO International

President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always creates the best possible conditions for foreign enterprises, including MEBO, to invest and do business efficiently and sustainably in the long term in line with the country’s laws.

Gyeongju (VNA) – State President Luong Cuong received founder of MEBO International Li Li in Gyeongju city on October 30, hailing the Chinese group’s investment expansion in Vietnam that helps enhance the pharmaceutical supply chain and public health.

The meeting took place within the framework of the ongoing 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in the Republic of Korea.

He said Vietnam is promoting economic restructuring, reforming the growth model, and diversifying economic components, with science – technology, innovation, and digital transformation serving as the main development driver in the new era.

Giving a brief introduction of the group, Li said MEBO is a biotechnology multinational specialised in researching, developing, producing, and marketing plant-based pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, cosmetics, and healthcare products. It is now operating across 80 countries worldwide.

With regards to its operations in Vietnam, she noted that MEBO is cooperating with the VCP Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to carry out the first phase of a pharmaceutical and healthcare project.

It is planning to launch new investments in the country in the fields of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and health care, she added.

The group hopes to receive support from the Vietnamese Government so that it can have official presence and expand investment partnerships in the country, thereby contributing to the local health and pharmaceutical sector, Li added.

Acknowledging Li’s opinions, President Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always creates the best possible conditions for foreign enterprises, including MEBO, to invest and do business efficiently and sustainably in the long term in line with the country’s laws.

He voiced his hope that basing on the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, including health and pharmaceutical cooperation, MEBO’s investment and cooperation activities in Vietnam will help further reinforce bilateral relations./.

Ho Chi Minh City steps up oversight of unqualified fishing vessels
