Vientiane (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam hosted a reception in Vientiane on January 21-22 for over 20 delegations from Lao ministries, agencies, front and mass organisations who came to offer congratulations on the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the upcoming Lunar New Year.
Ambassador Tam shared an overview of the CPV's accomplishments over the last 95 years, alongside the socio-economic progress the nation has made. He attributed these successes partly to the steadfast support from the Lao Party, State and people, acknowledging their role not only during Vietnam's struggle for independence and reunification but also in its current developmental phase.
Looking to the future, Tam expressed his hope that both nations will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder, working hand in hand to build and develop their countries, steadfastly advancing toward the goal of socialism.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos will continue to serve as a bridge to bolster increasingly fruitful cooperative relations between the two sides, contributing to the effective implementation of high-level agreements between the two Parties and countries, as well as bilateral cooperation programmes and plans, he said.
The Vietnamese Party, State and people always attach importance to and give special priority to the relations with Laos, stand ready to assist and share experiences in the Party and political system building, socio-economic development, new-style rural area development, poverty reduction, expansion of foreign relations and integration into the world, he said, adding that Vietnam will continue assisting Laos in workforce training and engage in in-depth discussions on areas of mutual concern.
Lao officials, in turn, expressed their profound gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for their invaluable, substantial and effective support throughout their country’s past struggle for independence as well as ongoing national development and safeguarding.
Sharing updates on the current situation in Laos, they highlighted the positive outcomes of recent cooperation with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, front, mass organisations, and also proposed some areas for further collaboration in the future./.
