- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has underscored that negotiations with the US, following President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 10% tariff on various trading partners, including Vietnam, with a 90-day delay, must be considered within the broader context of the Vietnam – US relations.

Chairing a meeting between standing cabinet members and leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities on April 10, PM Chinh commended the timely, flexible, suitable and effective responses of competent sides and noted that the US has agreed to initiate trade negotiations with Vietnam regarding a reciprocal trade agreement. - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez left Ho Chi Minh City on April 10 afternoon, wrapping up his three-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

During his stay in Vietnam, PM Sánchez paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and laid a wreath at the Monument to War Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son street. Read full story
- Spain and Vietnam see ample room for comprehensive cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, science and technology, and cultural exchanges, and both need to take actions to transform this potential into effective collaborations, contributing to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering prosperity between the EU and ASEAN regions, according to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.

Addressing the Vietnam-Spain Business Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 10 within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, PM Sánchez said that in 2009, Spain became the first country in the European Union (EU) to establish a Strategic Partnership with Vietnam. - Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet and Owen Jenkins, Director General for Indo-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the UK, co-chaired the 4th ASEAN-UK Senior Officials’ Meeting (AUKSOM) in the central city of Da Nang on April 10.
Jenkins, who is also ASEAN SOM leader of the UK, affirmed the UK's strong commitment and priority to ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific region, stressing that the UK supports ASEAN's central role and stands ready to assist the group in implementing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its strategies on politics-security, economics, culture-society, and connectivity.
