- President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Jae Myung considers Vietnam a partner of leading importance in his country’s foreign policy towards the region, his special envoy Park Chang Dal told Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam at a meeting in Hanoi on July 29.

Receiving the RoK guest, the host leader expressed his appreciation for the RoK President’s decision to send a special envoy to Vietnam shortly after taking office which, he said, reflects the importance placed on the ties with Vietnam in particular and on the Vietnam – RoK comprehensive strategic partnership in general. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on Korean conglomerates to share expertise and expand cooperation in Vietnam’s digital and cryptocurrency sectors during a meeting their leaders in Hanoi on July 29.

The PM met with Kim Hyoung-nyon, Executive Vice President of Dunamu – the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s largest centralised crypto asset exchange operator and the world’s third-largest, and Lee Eunhung, Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group, a long-standing strategic partner of Vietnam’s Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB). Chairman Man noted that the ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand at a meeting hosted by Malaysia, the current ASEAN Chair, on July 28 is a positive step. - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland on July 29 afternoon (local time), on the occasion of attending the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

- The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee on July 29 announced the list of 16 Vietnamese delegates to board the 49th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme (SSEAYP), scheduled to take place from January 15 to February 17, 2026.

As part of the programme, the delegation will engage in various activities aboard the Nippon Maru ship and visit Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. During the journey, they will pay courtesy calls on representatives of the host countries’ governments; tour offices, schools, and cultural landmarks; meet with local youths; and experience host country cultures through homestays. - Over the past five years, the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has served as a vital pillar in deepening economic and trade ties between Vietnam and Italy, said Duong Phuong Thao, Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in Italy.

Vietnam, Belgium boost parliamentary cooperation, deepen bilateral relations

Toi called on the Belgian Senate to continue supporting stronger Vietnam-EU relations, including the effective implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and promoting the European Commission's early removal of its "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports, in recognition of Vietnam's efforts to improve its legal framework and promote sustainable fisheries management.

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.

Border community twinning strengthens Vietnam–Laos friendship
