- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and his spouse, Ngo Phuong Ly, attended a concert held in Jakarta on March 9 evening to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam – Indonesia diplomatic ties, part of his state visit to Indonesia and official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat there.

- The Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line (Metro Line No.1) in Ho Chi Minh City was officially inaugurated at a ceremony on March 9 after more than two months of commercial operations.

PM hails women’s contributions to society, national development

According to the Prime Minister, Vietnam is one of the countries that has achieved the Millennium Development Goal on gender equality and women's empowerment ahead of schedule. In 2024, it ranked 72nd out of 146 countries in the global gender equality index. Notably, the proportion of female deputies in Vietnam’s 2021-2026 National Assembly stands at 30.26%, a high level compared to other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
