- Vietnam pledges to uphold its role as a reliable bridge and responsible partner, ready to accompany and contribute to peace, stability, and shared prosperity for all people and nations of ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and China, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Addressing the ASEAN – GCC – China Summit in Kuala Lumpur on May 27, PM Chinh described the growing dialogue and coordination among these economic powerhouses as a historic opportunity to shape a new inter-regional strategic cooperation space for a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future for all nations involved. - France stays ready to support and accompany Vietnam in delivering on its key commitments in sustainable development, environmental protection, carbon emission reduction, and energy transition through cooperation mechanisms, including the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) framework, said French President Emmanuel Macron.

Talking with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha during a working breakfast in Hanoi on May 27, Macron affirmed France’s support for Vietnam through a 500 million EUR concessional loan, specifically earmarked for projects under the JETP framework. Read full story

- Vietnam and France have issued a joint statement on the outcomes of French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Vietnam from May 25 to 27.

The statement notes that faced with an international environment marked by the continuous rise of tensions and after bilateral relations were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership on October 7, 2024 during the official visit to France by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, the two sides reaffirmed the willingness to deepen their countries' partnership of trust to strengthen their independence, self-reliance, and development, in particular by increasing delegation exchanges at high and all levels, as well as by improving the effectiveness of cooperation and dialogue mechanisms between the two countries. This partnership is based on their commitment to respecting the United Nations Charter and its principles, a common ambition to ensure a stable and prosperous world order, and the determination to make an ambitious and collective response to global challenges. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi in Kuala Lumpur on May 27 during his trip to Malaysia for official visit and the 46th ASEAN Summit and related meetings.

- French President Emmanuel Macron and his spouse departed Hanoi on May 27 afternoon, concluding their state visit to Vietnam from May 25 to 27, made at the invitation of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong.

During the visit, President Macron and his spouse, Brigitte Macron, laid a wreath and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and also paid homage to war heroes and martyrs at the monument on Bac Son street in Hanoi. Read full story

Vietnamese naval ship completes mission at Kakadu Exercise 2026

Ship 016–Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 departed Sydney Harbour on the morning of March 25 for home after successfully completing activities within the framework of the Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review 2026 marking the 125th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the multilateral naval exercise Kakadu 2026.

95th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union marked in Laos
