- Party General Secretary To Lam and his entourage visited Kyongsang kindergarten and a classroom named after President Ho Chi Minh on October 9 (local time), as part of their ongoing state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The delegation was treated to a music show by pupils, with traditional folk songs celebrating Vietnam–DPRK ties, love for the homeland, and a solo piano performance. Read full story

- The community of lawyers nationwide has been making significant contributions to protecting justice, the socialist rule of law, human rights, and the legitimate rights and interests of businesses, citizens, and organisations, thereby promoting socio-economic development and international integration, and building a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, and for the people, State President Luong Cuong remarked on October 9.

- Vietnam is keen to draw on international experience in developing its crypto-asset market, aiming to create a professional platform for investors, attract financial resources, and foster national economic growth, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has said.

Speaking at a meeting with Marco Dal Lago, Vice President for Global Expansion and Strategic Partnerships at Tether Group, on October 9, Phoc noted that the Government has recently adopted Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP on the five-year pilot of crypto asset trading. Competent authorities are currently reviewing applications and are expected to license around five strong crypto-asset trading platforms. Following the pilot phase, once stability is ensured, a comprehensive legal framework will be introduced to regulate the market. Read full story

- Vietnam Airlines will inaugurate its direct service connecting Hanoi and Cebu, the Philippines, on December 1, 2025, operating three flights per week with Airbus A321 aircraft.

- Vietnam calls for continued partnership and assistance from international partners as the country is grappling with floodwaters in many areas rising above historic levels, posing a high risk of prolonged inundation and landslides, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep said on October 9.

Speaking at the disaster risk reduction partnership meeting to update on subsequent floods following typhoons held in Hanoi, the official expressed sincere gratitude to all international partners, organisations, and individuals for their support to Vietnam in disaster prevention and risk mitigation. Vietnamese, Lao police forces foster security cooperation

Legislature scrutinises specialised court model at int’l financial centre

Establishing a specialised court at the International Financial Center is necessary to institutionalise the Party’s policies and conclusions of the competent authorities. The court aims to provide a fast and effective mechanism for resolving disputes arising from business and investment activities at the centre.

PM pushes comprehensive financing for Mekong Delta climate response

Land subsidence, landslides, flooding, drought, and saltwater intrusion have directly affected the livelihoods and daily lives of people in the Mekong Delta that accounts for 12.8% of the country’s area and nearly 18% of its population, and contributes 95% of the nation’s rice exports, 60% of its aquatic exports, and 65% of its fruit exports.
