- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam held talks with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev at the Presidential Palace in Sofia on October 23, in which he affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to relations with Bulgaria.

Warmly welcoming General Secretary Lam's first visit to Bulgaria as the two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, President Radev emphasised Vietnam's position and role in the Asia-Pacific region and highly evaluated its foreign policy, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region. In August 1957, President Ho Chi Minh stayed at the Vrana Palace during his visit to Bulgaria, which marked the beginning of a new chapter in the traditional and multifaceted relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria. Read full story

- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam met with Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Atanas Zafirov and representatives of left-wing parties in Bulgaria on October 23 (local time), as part of his official visit to the European country.

General Secretary Lam affirmed that the CPV attaches great importance to strengthening ties with the BSP and left-wing parties in Bulgaria, considering them an inseparable part of Vietnam–Bulgaria relations. Read full story

- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam attended a Vietnam - Bulgaria Business Forum on October 23 afternoon (local time) in Sofia as part of his going official visit to the European country.

The event, jointly held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance, the Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria, and the Ministry of Innovation and Growth of Bulgaria, was also attended by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 23 had a meeting with visiting South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, during which the two sides agreed to promote market access for each other’s goods and products in order to boost bilateral trade.

- Vietnam values its traditional friendship with South Africa, its close friend and first African partner with which it established a partnership for cooperation and development framework in 2004, State President Luong Cuong told visiting South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa during their talks in Hanoi on October 23.

President Cuong congratulated South Africa on significant achievements it has made under the leadership of the Government of National Unity (GNU), expressing his belief that the African country will successfully assume the G20 Presidency in 2025, host the first-ever G20 Summit in Africa, and continue to be a leading economy in the continent with a strong voice in international forums. - The World Health Organisation (WHO) has donated 9,000 doses of human rabies vaccine to Vietnam's northern provinces of Phu Tho and Tuyen Quang — areas considered at high risk — to help save the lives of people bitten by rabid dogs and protect vulnerable communities, particularly children and ethnic minorities.

The post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) vaccines, valued at 100,000 USD, were delivered to the Centres for Disease Control (CDC) in the two provinces through coordination with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE), the Ministry of Health, and local authorities. Hanoi, Vientiane promote comprehensive cooperation in new phase

The capitals of Vietnam and Laos signed memoranda of understanding on joint work in the fields of public communication and mass mobilisation, women and youth affairs, foreign relations, industry and trade, education and health care.
