- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, together with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, departed Hanoi on October 28 for a three-day official visit to the UK.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 27 afternoon held separate meetings with Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.

During his meeting with President Marcos Jr., Chinh congratulated the Philippines on assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026 and commended the country’s recent socio-economic achievements, particularly in implementing the “Build Better More” programme, maintaining economic growth, controlling inflation, and creating jobs. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and United Nations (UN) to effectively implement their plan of action for 2026–2030, while proposing key areas of cooperation to further deepen the ties at the 15th ASEAN – UN Summit held in Kuala Lumpur on October 27.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh joined leaders from ASEAN members and partner countries, including China, the US, Russia, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, and New Zealand, at the 20th East Asia Summit (EAS) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 27 afternoon, as part of the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits.

- Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan and Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Lounes Magramane co-chaired the fourth political consultation between the two countries in Hanoi on October 27.

During the consultation, the two sides briefed each other on the situation in their respective countries, reviewed bilateral cooperation over the recent past, and discussed concrete measures to further enhance the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria. - Construction began on the Houaphanh provincial Radio and Television Station, a gift from the Vietnamese Government to the Lao Government and people of Houaphanh province, on October 27.

The project has a total investment of 146.4 billion VND (about 5.5 million USD), including 138.6 billion VND in non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government and 7.8 billion VND in counterpart funding from the Lao Government./.

Vietnamese naval ship completes mission at Kakadu Exercise 2026

Ship 016–Quang Trung of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 departed Sydney Harbour on the morning of March 25 for home after successfully completing activities within the framework of the Exercise Kakadu Fleet Review 2026 marking the 125th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the multilateral naval exercise Kakadu 2026.
