- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, together with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, departed Hanoi on October 28 for a three-day official visit to the UK.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 27 afternoon held separate meetings with Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.
During his meeting with President Marcos Jr., Chinh congratulated the Philippines on assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026 and commended the country’s recent socio-economic achievements, particularly in implementing the “Build Better More” programme, maintaining economic growth, controlling inflation, and creating jobs. - Construction began on the Houaphanh provincial Radio and Television Station, a gift from the Vietnamese Government to the Lao Government and people of Houaphanh province, on October 27.
The project has a total investment of 146.4 billion VND (about 5.5 million USD), including 138.6 billion VND in non-refundable aid from the Vietnamese Government and 7.8 billion VND in counterpart funding from the Lao Government./.
