- Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a reception in Hanoi on September 1 for delegations of leaders and representatives from political parties across Asia, Europe, America and Africa, who are in Vietnam to attend a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

General Secretary Lam expressed appreciation for their warm congratulations to President Ho Chi Minh, the Party, State and people of Vietnam, describing these gestures as a vivid testament to the profound solidarity, brotherhood and enduring international support extended to Vietnam by global political parties, states, governments and international friends.

- Party General Secretary To Lam has emphasised Vietnam’s longstanding appreciation for the support of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), the Government and people of Cambodia, underlining the importance of the close bilateral relationship as well as the Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos ties.

Receiving CPP President Hun Sen who leads a high-ranking Cambodian delegation to Vietnam for the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and National Day on September 1, General Secretary Lam expressed his commitment to further strengthening ties between the two parties, the two countries, and among the three parties and nations, promoting practical cooperation across all sectors for the benefit of each country's people and for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has stressed that no country, regardless of its size, can address today’s multidimensional challenges alone, underscoring the urgent need to promote multilateralism, solidarity, and international cooperation.

He delivered the message at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit on September 1 in Tianjin, China, marking the first time a high-ranking Vietnamese leader had spoken at such a gathering.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 1 held separate meetings with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev, on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China.

At the meetings, the leaders of the countries and international organisations spoke highly of the first-time attendance of a high-ranking Vietnamese leader at the summit, voiced their desire to step up multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, and expressed admiration for the nation’s socio-economic achievements, believing it will successfully realise its major development goals.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 1 met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tianjin, part of his trip to China to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit and engage in other activities there.

At the meeting, the PM conveyed warm greetings from Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, and other Vietnamese Party and State leaders to President Putin.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith on September 1 on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit 2025 in Tianjin, China.

The PM stated that the upcoming presence of LPRP General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, together with the high-level Lao delegation, at Vietnam’s celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 demonstrates the deep-rooted solidarity and loyal friendship between the two countries.

- State President Luong Cuong on September 1 stressed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always treasure and remember the solidarity and wholehearted support that Cuba gave Vietnam during its past struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in the ongoing process of national construction and defence.

Addressing a grand meeting in Hanoi to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960–2025), the President underlined that Vietnam’s solidarity with Cuba comes from the heart and is deeply rooted in the thinking of every Vietnamese.

- State President Luong Cuong on September 1 hosted a reception for Zhao Leji, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, who is on an official visit to Vietnam to attend celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), and to co-chair the first meeting of the cooperation committee between the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) and the NPC.

Both host and guest underlined the importance of Vietnam – China relations in each country’s overall foreign policy, and agreed that the traditional friendship and close ties between the two Parties and two nations have been increasingly strengthened. High-ranking leaders of both sides have maintained regular meetings and strategic exchanges, reaching a common understanding on building a Vietnam–China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, in line with the “six major orientations”.

- Having firm belief in a bright future, with determination, wisdom and resilience, Vietnam will continue to conquer new heights, promote innovation, deepen integration, and spread the spirit of reconciliation, solidarity and international cooperation, said State President Luong Cuong at a grand banquet hosted by the Party and State to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

The event was attended by Party General Secretary To Lam, National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, as well as a large number of incumbent and former Party, State, Government and National Assembly leaders, along with representatives from ministries, central agencies and local authorities.

- Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen in Hanoi on September 1, who is in Hanoi to attend celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

Chairman Man expressed his joy at meeting CPP President and Senate President Hun Sen and welcoming a high-ranking delegation attending this important event, describing the Cambodian presence as a vivid testament to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and people./.

Vietnam, Belgium boost parliamentary cooperation, deepen bilateral relations

Toi called on the Belgian Senate to continue supporting stronger Vietnam-EU relations, including the effective implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and promoting the European Commission's early removal of its "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports, in recognition of Vietnam's efforts to improve its legal framework and promote sustainable fisheries management.

Senior military officer inspects martyrs’ remains search at Le Thị Rieng Park

Nghia described the ongoing 500-day campaign as a sacred mission that embodies the Vietnamese tradition of remembering those who served and sacrificed for the nation. PM calls for building elite, professional international search and rescue force

During its mission from June 29 to July 7, the team worked around the clock under extremely hazardous conditions amid heavily damaged and contaminated disaster zones. Despite the challenges, rescue personnel recovered 57 victims' bodies and handed them over to local authorities and families. They also identified and reported several suspected locations where additional victims might be trapped.
