NA Chairman hails publisher’s pioneering role on ideological front

Through its extensive system of publications, thematic volumes, forums, workshops, scientific seminars and communication activities, the publishing house has actively shaped public opinion, defended the scientific and revolutionary nature of Marxism–Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought, and countered distortions aimed at undermining the Party’s leadership and the great national unity bloc.

Hanoi (VNA) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has commended the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House for its remarkable achievements over the past 80 years, while outlining numerous key directions for the institution to focus on in the time ahead.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the 80th founding anniversary of the publishing house (December 5, 1945 – 2025) on December 1, Chairman Man emphasised that the institution has grown steadily over the past eight decades, earning its reputation as a trusted address and a core publisher of theoretical and political works of the Party and the State. It has consistently asserted its pioneering role on the ideological and theoretical front, contributing to safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation.

The NA Chairman urged the publishing house to accelerate innovation in editing, publishing and distribution, ensuring works remain rigorous, scientific and modern, and at the same time accessible and easy for readers to absorb. He called for continued improvements in the quality of publications, ensuring correct political viewpoints, and effectively serving the country’s renewal process and sustainable development goals.

He stressed the need to strengthen scientific research as a strategic pillar alongside editing and publishing. Publications must directly contribute to the development of the Party’s theoretical foundations and to building a strong, sustainable ideological basis for the country in the coming period.

Chairman Man also underscored the importance of building the publishing house into a model institution in Party building and Party culture. Its cadres and members must demonstrate their steadfastness, integrity and a spirit of service, remain exemplary in words and actions, and place the interests of the Party, the State and the people above all else, he noted.

The top legislator further requested comprehensive digital transformation, gradually digitising and standardising resources to expand access to knowledge for all officials, Party members and citizens. This includes adopting new technologies, artificial intelligence and big data in editing, publishing, archiving and dissemination; developing multimedia publishing systems; and building digital libraries and electronic bookshelves for unified use throughout the Party, the political system and society. Political publications must be readable, audible and viewable across multiple digital platforms.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man presented a First-Class Labour Order to the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House.

Founded on December 5, 1945 as the Su That (Truth) Publishing House, the predecessor of the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House, the institution has spent 80 years upholding its mandate as the Party’s central publisher of theoretical and political works. It has consistently fulfilled its tasks, serving as a vanguard in producing theoretical and political books, promoting and protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, and spreading political and theoretical knowledge across society.

In his congratulatory letter, Party General Secretary To Lam highlighted that the publishing house has rightly fulfilled its role as the Party and State’s key theoretical and political publisher. Its book collections and individual works have made significant contributions to national liberation, national construction and defence, and the comprehensive renewal of the country. Many publications carry profound theoretical and practical value, helping enhance the Party’s leadership capacity, strengthen the political system, foster political education for officials, Party members and the public, and support external information activities by showcasing a peaceful, renewing, and integrating Vietnam to the world.

The Party chief expressed his confidence that the publishing house will continue to uphold unity, vigorously reform its governance and publishing model in a professional, modern and humanistic direction, adapting effectively to market mechanisms and readers’ preferences in the new era.

He urged the institution to keep abreast of global publishing trends, actively adopt technological advances, diversify modes of communication and widely disseminate theoretical, political and legal publications to raise political awareness and nurture revolutionary ideals among officials, Party members and the people./.
