Vientiane (VNA) – A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilisation paid courtesy calls on senior officials of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) in Vientiane on November 19.

The delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilisation Trieu Tai Vinh, met with Khamphanh Pheuyavong, Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and Chairman of the LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Training, and Inlavanh Keobounphanh, member of the LPRP Central Committee and Vice President of the Lao Front for National Construction.

During the meetings, Vinh briefed the hosts on the outcomes of the earlier talks between the two commissions, emphasising that the communication work in recent years has helped widely disseminate information about Vietnam – Laos cooperation, enabling the peoples of both countries to further understand their great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.

Khamphanh Pheuyavong called on the two sides to continue increasing exchanges and mutual support across all fields. Besides, they should intensify communications on the Parties’ and States’ policies, especially among the younger generation, to raise public awareness of the unique and exemplary friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Inlavanh Keobounphanh asked Vietnam to continue sharing experience in the communication work, particularly in conveying Party and State policies and guidelines to the public, and to assist Laos in building capacity to counter wrongful and harmful information. This, she said, is an area where both sides can step up coordination in to help safeguard the ideological foundation of the two Parties and strengthen stability and development in each country.

On November 16, bilateral talks were held between Vietnam’s Commission for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilisation and Laos’ Commission for Propaganda and Training.

The two sides agreed to press on with translating cooperation agreements into concrete actions. Key activities include organising thematic talks on the occasion the countries' national anniversaries, developing communication materials on the implementation of Party guidelines and policies, and promoting the Vietnam – Laos tradition of solidarity and special friendship across various media platforms.

Both sides discussed the development of a new cooperation plan, agreeing that it should be comprehensive, focused, and results-oriented to ensure the highest effectiveness./.
