Petrol prices slightly drop, diesel edges up in latest adjustment

Effective from 3pm on July 24, the price of E5 RON92 petrol dropped by 202 VND per litre to a maximum of 19,279 VND (0.74 USD), and RON95-III petrol decreased by 216 VND to 19,709 VND per litre.

Hanoi (VNA) – Domestic petrol prices edged down slightly while diesel saw an increase on July 24 following the latest price adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

Effective from 3pm on July 24, the price of E5 RON92 petrol dropped by 202 VND per litre to a maximum of 19,279 VND (0.74 USD), and RON95-III petrol decreased by 216 VND to 19,709 VND per litre.

Prices of diesel rose by 330 VND to 19,129 VND per litre, while kerosene climbed 199 VND to 18,628 VND per litre. Mazut prices also edged down slightly, falling by 99 VND to 15,379 VND per kilogramme.

This marks the 31st fuel price adjustment since the beginning of the year. Over this period, RON95 petrol has been adjusted up 16 times and down 15 times, while diesel has seen 16 hikes, 14 cuts and one instance of remaining unchanged.

In this adjustment, the authorities decided not to use the petrol and oil price stabilisation fund for any of the fuel categories./.
