Reference exchange rate climbs 24 VND on May 9

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,951 VND/USD on May 9, up 24 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,951 VND/USD on May 9, up 24 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,199 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,731 VND/USD.

At 8:14 am, the opening-hour rates at major commercial banks remained unchanged.

Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,780 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,140 VND/USD. BIDV kept the buying rate at 25,780 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,140 VND/USD./.

Inflationary pressure in the second half of 2025 would remain moderate, as factors driving prices up and down are expected to balance each other out. Assuming the CPI rises by an average of 0.27% per month, matching the average increase in the last six months of the 2015-24 period, the average inflation rate for 2025 is forecasted at 3.4%.
