Malaysia , the defending Southeast Asian (SEA) Games champions,regrouped to fire more attacks on Vietnam and they were paid off.

Captain Baddrol Bakhtiar equalised in the 43rd minute when set a 25mfreekick to hit the net in a high top corner and stun Vietnamese goalieTuan Manh.

German coach Falko Goetz substituted three midfielders in the second half, but the hosts failed to score a goal.

The annual tournament saw U-23 teams of Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Myanmarand Vietnam competing in a round robin tournament as a warming up forSEA Games in Indonesia next month./.
