Bangkok (VNA) – The Vietnam–Thailand business forum took place in Thailand on August 28, bringing together nearly 150 participants, including diplomatic officials, partner organisations, businesses, and overseas Vietnamese.

Part of activities marking Vietnam’s 80th National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) and the upgrade of Vietnam – Thailand relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (May 16, 2025), the forum created a platform for enterprises from both countries to meet, share experience, and discuss development visions and policies aligned with practical business needs.

Speakers from leading corporations presented insights on cooperation, the green economy, brand-building, opportunities in Thailand’s northeastern region, and the role of young entrepreneurs.

During the dialogue session, discussions centred on enhancing supply chain and logistics capacity, removing legal barriers, promoting digital economy and innovation, and adopting sustainable development strategies in the new era, along with strengthening cooperation between Vietnamese entrepreneurs and overseas communities.

Businesses from both sides emphasised that Vietnam and Thailand are key drivers of regional economies, playing a vital role in boosting cooperation and economic integration in the Mekong sub-region through the East–West Economic Corridor and the Southern Economic Corridor.

Speaking to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Thailand, Nguyen Ngoc Tan, Chairperson of the Vietnam Young Business Travel Club, said that most entrepreneurs hope the governments of both countries, and more broadly ASEAN nations, will work towards a unified mechanism to expand links between enterprises and the private economic sector, thereby contributing to the formation of a sustainable and fast-developing global supply chain.

Earlier, delegates attended the opening of the Vietnam – Northeast Thailand trade fair, which featured nearly 50 booths from Vietnamese and Thai businesses, and witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements between the Vietnam – Thailand Business Association and Vietnamese firms./.
