Vo Trong Hai elected Chairman of People’s Committee of Nghe An province

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghe An province Vo Trong Hai on November 18 was elected by the provincial People’s Council as Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Nghe An (VNA) - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nghe An province Vo Trong Hai on November 18 was elected by the provincial People’s Council as Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term, at the council’s 34th session, with 100% of attending delegates voting in favour.

In his inaugural remarks, Hai stated that each vote of confidence this time reflects the trust and high expectations of the deputies of the provincial People’s Council. That trust is the motivation for him to continuously strive, devote himself, and work wholeheartedly for the development of Nghe An province.

He affirmed that he will renew thinking and apply flexible, creative, and decisive governance methods to achieve substantive results; build an upright, action-oriented, service-minded administration growth based on innovation, digital transformation, and green transition; care for human development, improve people’s living standards, ensure social security, and maintain discipline and stability; and inspire the strength of great national unity and the aspiration for strong advancement.

From April 2021 to September 2025, Hai served as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of neighbouring Ha Tinh province for the 2020–2025 term and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term. From October 2 to November 13, 2025, he continued to act as Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term.

Also at the session, the Nghe An provincial People’s Council relieved Le Hong Vinh of the post of the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 tenure; and his duties as a member of the 18th provincial People’s Council. At the same time, the council carried out procedures to relieve Nguyen Duc Trung, former Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, of his role as a member of the 18th provincial People’s Council, due to his reassignment.

Earlier, on November 7, Trung was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term. Meanwhile, Vinh serves as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Quang Tri province for the 2025-2030 term./.

The dispatch states that in implementing Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW dated April 2, 2026 of the 14th Party Central Committee on the 2026–2030 socio-economic development plan, national finance, public debt management and medium-term public investment, linked to the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth, the Government on April 29 issued 11 resolutions on cutting, decentralising and simplifying administrative procedures, business conditions, and conditional business lines. The Prime Minister subsequently directed ministries, agencies and localities to implement these resolutions.
