Bac Ninh (VNA) – The Party Organisation of the northern province of Bac Ninh on September 30 kicked off its first congress for the 2025 – 2030 tenure, bringing together 449 delegates representing more than 156,000 Party members from 103 subordinate Party organisations.

A report at the event highlighted that over the past five years, the former Party Organisations of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces, prior to their merger, and the current Bac Ninh Party Organisation have led local people to obtain significant achievements across various fields. The local economy maintained comprehensive growth, with many key indicators ranking among the country’s highest. The province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) grew at an average annual rate of 8.98%.

The political report set the overall goal for the 2025–2030 tenure as building a united, clean, and strong provincial Party Organisation and political system; ensuring rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable socio-economic development; safeguarding national defence and security; and continuously improving the material and spiritual life and living environment of local people. Bac Ninh aims to become a centrally-run city before 2030 and, by 2045, a green, modern city with a strong cultural identity.

By 2030, Bac Ninh targets an average annual GRDP growth of 11–12% for the 2026 – 2030 period and the eradication of poverty by the end of 2027.

At the congress, the Politburo’s decisions were announced on the appointment of members of the provincial Party Committee, its Standing Board, and its key leader for the 2025 – 2030 tenure.

Accordingly, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Minister of National Defence, was assigned as Secretary of the Bac Ninh Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 tenure. The new provincial Party Committee has 71 members, including 18 members in its Standing Board. Deputy Secretaries of the provincial Party Committee are Nguyen Thi Huong, Nguyen Viet Oanh and Vuong Quoc Tuan./.
