The documents included the draft Political Report; the draft report on theoretical and practical issues arising from 40 years of the socialist-oriented Doi Moi (Renewal) cause in Vietnam; the draft report on 15 years of implementing the Party Charter; the nominations of candidates for the 14th Party Central Committee and its Inspection Commission; the timing, contents, and agenda of the 14th National Party Congress; the working and electoral regulations.

The Politburo was tasked with finalising relevant conclusions and directing the Government’s Party Committee to refine reports for submission to the 15th National Assembly’s 10th session.

They agreed for Le Quang Huy, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly’s Standing Board and Chairman of the NA's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, to step down as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee.

The Party Central Committee decided to discipline Do Trong Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, former deputy head of the Party Central Committee's Organisation Commission, and former Secretary of the Thanh Hoa provincial Party Committee, by removing him from all Party positions for serious violations of Party regulations and State laws in performing his duties in prevention an control of corruption, wastefulness and negative phenomena, violating regulations on things a Party member is banned to do, failing to fulfil the responsibility for setting an example, causing severe consequences and stirring public outrage.
