HCM City (VNA) – The Week of Trade Networking and Product Exhibition for Supporting Industries, Electronics and ICT 2025 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 13, welcoming visitors to explore a wide range of innovative products.
According to Ho Thi Quyen, Deputy Director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of HCM City (ITPC), the event aims to assist enterprises in showcasing outstanding specialised products, while facilitating trade connections with major domestic corporations, foreign-invested enterprises, local investors, and international buyers.
Nguyen Anh Duc, Vice President of the HCM City Computer Association (HCA), said the event has brought together 30 enterprises presenting technology solutions across multiple fields, from digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data to cybersecurity, e-commerce, smart management platforms, as well as blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. All showcased products are selected for their technological excellence, high applicability in production and business, and compliance with international standards for digital transformation.
The exhibition booths are designed for direct interaction, allowing visitors to experience technologies on-site, from smart manufacturing process simulations to hands-on operations with management software and e-commerce solutions. More than a product showcase, the event serves as a networking hub where businesses can seek suitable solutions, engage directly with experts, and explore opportunities for cooperation.
Throughout the week from August 13–19, the organisers will also hold a thematic seminar on emerging technology trends and four in-depth workshops, offering hands-on guidance tailored to specific groups, including agricultural exporters, industrial exporters, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), household businesses, and market traders. These activities provide enterprises with opportunities to promote products, gain practical knowledge and skills for technology deployment, and build a solid foundation for sustainable digital transformation.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, by the end of 2024, Vietnam had nearly 74,000 active digital technology enterprises, up 10.1% year-on-year. Total revenue of the information and communications sector was estimated at 166.7 billion USD, an increase of 13.2% compared to 2023. Of this, the digital technology industry accounted for 151.86 billion USD, more than 91% of total sector revenue and equivalent to 11% of GDP.
The rapid advancement of foundational technologies such as AI, big data, cloud computing, and IoT is reshaping production methods, distribution channels, consumer behaviour, and management systems. These technologies are also key drivers of innovation, labour restructuring, and the creation of a high-quality workforce equipped with new knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the new era./.
