Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member, Secretary of the Government’s Party Committee and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 25 chaired a ceremony to announce the State President’s decisions on the appointment of new Deputy Prime Ministers and ministers for the 2021-2026 tenure.
Earlier the same day, at its 10th session, the 15th National Assembly approved the appointments to these positions.
According to the decisions, Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung were appointed as Deputy PMs; Le Hoai Trung as Minister of Foreign Affairs; Tran Duc Thang as Minister of Agriculture and Environment; and Do Thanh Binh as Minister of Home Affairs.
Presenting the appointment decisions to the new officials, PM Chinh lauded their contributions and commitments, and congratulated them on earning the trust of the Party, the State, and the National Assembly.
The PM stressed that there is not much time left from now until the 14th National Party Congress and the end of 2025, while the workload is substantial and demands remain high. He underscored the need to maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, and ensure major economic balances, while pursuing a GDP growth of 8.3-8.5% in 2025 and two-digit expansion in the following years.
Vietnam, he said, will continue restructuring its economy and innovating its growth model toward green, digital, circular, and sharing economy; promote industrialisation, modernisation, and urbanisation; improve human resources quality; and strengthen resilience against external shocks.
He also highlighted priorities such as administrative reform, institutional improvement, public investment disbursement, social welfare, infrastructure development, national defence and security, and international integration.
Expressing confidence in the new Deputy PMs and ministers, PM Chinh called on them to work closely with the Cabinet, uphold unity and dedication, and build a pioneering and efficient Government that wholeheartedly serves the Fatherland and the people./.
