On the first day of the campaign, Vietnamese and Russian doctorschecked the eyes of 160 children and their carers of the SOS village.Some of them will receive treatment or surgeries at the hospital.
Duong Chi Kien, President of the Board of Directors of the VRIOH JointStock Company, said that the campaign focussed on students in Hanoi andwould run through October.
He stressed that the drive was the hospital’s wish to join hand to protect health for the country’s future generations.
Kien said students would not only receive eye checks-up and treatment,but also know how to care and protect their eyes, thus improving theirhealth and ensuring their study.
The VRIOH was established in February this year under a cooperationagreement between the VRIOH Joint Stock Company and Eye FyodorovMicrosurgery of Russia , within the framework of the cooperationprogramme between the two governments to meet eye care demand of theVietnamese people./.
